Mike Gorr, Lead Pastor

Mike grew up in the Chicago area and still loves the Cubs, Chicago Style hot dogs and deep dish pizza. He attended Wheaton College where he met his sweetheart Jill who grew up in nearby Berkley, MI. Mike received his masters degree at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN and recently completed his doctorate of ministry at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. He was a youth pastor for 14 years before starting Mercy Road Church.

Mike likes to kick back on the golf course or by taking in a movie. His list of all time favorites includes The Matrix, Dan in Real Life, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, UP, and the old classic It’s a Wonderful Life.

Mike and Jill have 4 kids: Hannah, Matt, Joel and Courtney. They too are Cubs fans. Whether they like it or not.

Josh Nash, Associate Pastor

Joshua Nash was born in Wausau Wisconsin, but grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota—the land of 100,000 really awesome lakes! As such he is a big Minnesota Twins fan and a semi-enthusiastic Vikings supporter (although, out of sympathy he has been known to cheer for the Detroit Lions, unless, of course, they are facing the aforementioned Vikings). He is the fourth of five kids and was raised in a God fearing, Jesus following home since his youth.

For his undergraduate degree, Josh studied Christian Ministry, with a focus on Children and Youth, and he also has a Masters in Organizational Leadership. In June of 2009, after hearing a clear call from the Lord, Josh moved to Michigan to help start Mercy Road. On a typical Sunday, you may see him on stage leading worship, back with the kid’s ministry leading a small group, or in the lobby talking with people, drinking chocolate milk and eating anything that is covered with sugar. Josh can be spotted rather easily (as he is rather tall), and he would love to get to know you and hear the story of how God is at work in your life.
